Stuff I Drew, part 3 (More Champions of the Galaxy)

Here's the next batch of characters from that damn wrestling card game (I was obsessed with this game for like 4 years).  Incidentally if anyone is wondering what the game is called, or if I just made the whole thing up, Google "Champions of the Galaxy" and you'll find it.  This game is horribly addictive....

The first two characters were an original tag team I created called The Destroyers.  My RPE friends will recognize the names, though Apocalypse looks quite different.  I obviously used The Undertaker as an inspiration but tried to scale him more like The Big Show (or The Giant as he was called at the time).

Apocalypse's tag partner, based off a photo of James Hetfield from Metallica.  Imagine my surprise in 2009 when Sheamus showed up on WWE TV, looking awfully similar to Oblivion.  I'm still waiting for my royalties, Vince....

Splatter was an existing character that I revamped, using Kane's original mask as the basis.

  1. These look very cool! I looked at the drawing of Oblivion and immediately Load-era Hetfield popped into my head... that was before I read the caption. I also really like all the detail you put into Splatter.

Also, I noticed you like Megadeth. I wonder if you'd like to check out my blog, where I'm doing a series of posts about Megadeth? It's infraredpedestrian.blogspot.com. Thanks if you decide to check it out!

  2. Thanks for reading! Yeah I'll definitely check out your blog.

Yeah the Oblivion drawing concept was lifted right out of the Load CD artwork.
